March House Farm near the UK's rural food capital, Melton Mowbray, has been farmed by four generations of the Belcher family and has already made a name for itself at farmers' markets in London and Market Harborough.
Now managed by sons Dan and Tom with the help of their parents, Mike and Heather, the family is opening the doors of its first farm shop, butchery and deli at the farm between Great Dalby and Kirby Bellars this morning.
Former International cricketer Matthew Hoggard MBE will officially open the shop at 11am and visitors will have the opportunity to take a look at March House Farm and see the pigs, piglets, cows and calves which are all raised and butchered on site.
Dan said: “We’re particularly excited to be opening our new farm shop, butchery and deli which builds upon the butchery business we started in 1999.
"While we’ve sold meat at the farm gate for a few years, we’ve always wanted to develop our farm shop offering further.
"We’ll have our freshly barbecued produce for customers to taste all day.”

March House Farm produces top quality beef, lamb and pork from its farms in Great Dalby and Little Dalby and by cutting out the middleman, offers prices comparable to those you would find at the supermarket.
Its ridge and furrow pasture is rich in natural grasses and herbs and this is reflected in the excellent quality of meat.
Dan added: “We cut and prepare all the meat on the premises, so if you’ve any special requirements for a dinner party such as a crown roast or a guard of honour, then you can order what you want especially from us.
"For Christmas, we have turkeys, geese and cockerels so today is a great opportunity to come and place your order.”
March House Farm already plans to extend the visitor experience by opening a café next Spring.
The shop will be open seven days a week from 9am to 1pm on Mondays, 8am to 5pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, 8am to 7pm on Fridays and 10am to 3.30pm Sundays.
